We have two sizes of AKK miniature and standard. Measured from the withers to the ground, Miniature AKK are between 33.1cm ~ 38.1cm (13" ~ 15") tall and usually weigh between 4.5KG ~ 7KG. Standard AKK are between 38.2cm ~ 43.2cm (15" ~ 17") tall and usually weigh between 7KG ~ 10KG. Occasially there may be a 'throw-back' that grows larger or smaller and these dogs are unable to be bred since they do not conform to the Breed Standard. Our females are both minature and our sire is standard.
Yes, Australian Klee Kais provides official pedigrees for both the parents and their pups.
Being a small dog with regular grooming, shedding should not be an issue. Although they're a small dog they do share their husky cousins coat. Which will require grooming to keep it maintained, especially around spring time.
Very loving and sweet natured with the energy of a husky but without the size to knock the little ones off their feet. They still retain their pack mentality and will crave to be part of the family, and may be a little reserved with strangers until they get to know them.
Overall, the Australian gene pool seems very stable and in excellent health. The main issue with this breed is factor VII deficiency in females, which has not presented to be a problem in this country. All of our Klee Kai dams are free of this condition. Documents can be provided upon request. The average life expectency of a Klee Kai is 14 years.
